Proxima Divide
Sci-Fi Survival Game (2025)
Solo Developer | Designer | Programmer | Producer
Proxima Divide is my capstone project for SAE Creative Media Institute, developed to mark the culmination of my Bachelor's degree in Game Development. Created solo with select freelance support, this sci-fi survival experience showcases my abilities in game design, programming, level scripting, and production.
Set after a crash landing on a distant alien world, players awaken aboard a damaged spacecraft before being thrust into a hostile planetary environment. The game emphasizes atmospheric exploration, resource-based survival, and narrative discovery, introduced through an in-engine cinematic sequence and guided early gameplay.
Key features include:
- Immersive first-person survival gameplay built in Unreal Engine 5
- Environmental storytelling and dynamic sound design
- Core systems: inventory, crafting, resource management, AI behavior
- Modular level design and custom gameplay mechanics in C++
- Cinematic cutscenes and UMG-based UI implementation
Proxima Divide represents my most ambitious solo development effort to date, balancing technical implementation with creative worldbuilding and player-driven narrative design.
